Two weeks.
Since I went too far and pushed too much.
Two weeks without a word, leaving the memories to fill the silence.
I couldn’t even stop him as he pushed me away, mumbling hurried apologies. I didn’t even watch as he walked out of my life, still tasting him on my lips.
The after image of his gentle touch still burned my skin as the door clicked shut and shattered my heart.
So I watch him…again.
But it’s not the same.
There is no prelude to more this time.
Just a silent epilogue where there once was hope.
