I remember going to his coach needing a friend to lean on.
I barely remember the drunken plane flight home.
How he got me to my house is anyone’s guess.
Now I just need to remember if the teasing offers were real or in my mind.
I know he was with the rookie…wasn’t he? I know he’s been there for me--almost stalking me--but as a friend…right?
Maybe I’m imagining it.
Either way…it’s given me nothing but comfort.
I was drunk. He could have made a move.
But he didn’t.
So there’s nothing to worry about. Just friends.
Right?
