The Night Before the Shelby 427 - Las Vegas, NV- February 28th, 2009
“Hit me.”
Are you sure, Cowboy? The last time and the time before that and the time before that the lady took away your discs when you said “hit me.” And how is she “hitting” you anyway? Those don’t look like battle cards to me. They just have numbers and I still haven’t seen Pikachu….
“Again. Stay.”
Well at least you’re smiling this time. I still don’t know why you brought me here without telling Green Eyes. I don’t know anything about these hearts and puppy paw cards. Where are your Pokémon? You can’t win with a bunch of diamonds and shovels….
“House has twenty one.”
“Dammit! …stupid bleach blonde hussy….”
“Excuse me, sir?”
“What? Nothin’ Just…talking to my good luck charm here.”
“Of course, sir.”
You were talking to me? Really? Hey Hussy! Don’t take more of Cowboy’s discs. He needs those…for something. They make him happy and now you’re making him unhappy. Give them back! And give him some good cards this time. Stop hogging all the good stuff. And stop letting her hit you Cowboy! Hey look, you got two knight guys. That’s good, right? Make them fight and hit her back.
“You know you really aughta double down there.”
“Wha-- Dammit, Harvick. You know you ain’t supposed to come sneakin’ on a guy at the blackjack table! What are you thinking?”
“I’m thinking you took something of mine and I wanted to make sure I got him back.”
Green Eyes! I didn’t do it. He made me come. He said I had to help him but I don’t know how. I don’t know this game. I told him to let the knights fight but I don’t think he’s listening to me. Don’t be mad at me, Green Eyes. He said he neeeeeded me.
“Oh, relax. I’m not gonna hurt your bear. Yeah, yeah, I wanna split. Hit me. Besides, he ain’t bringing me luck anyway.”
Maybe because I’m not your bear, Cowboy. Or maybe because you stole me without asking. Green Eyes, can I help him? Is it ok if I play too?
“You aren’t looking so bad now, Bowyer. You know your problem has always been not knowing when to walk away.”
“Can it, Harvick. I know what I’m doing. Hit me.”
“Of course you do. That’s why I had to bail your ass out in Dover.”
“Oh shut up. That card shouldn’t have been maxed. I sent the damn payment on time.”
“Suuuuuuuure you did. Maybe if you hadn’t been buying dinner for half the casino--”
“Enough. Yes! About damn TIME!”
That’s right Hussy give him the discs! Yay, give him some more. See, see Cowboy I told you the knights would help. Double attack. That’s always good but I still think Pikachu or Mewtwo would have done better. Told you you needed more than just hearts and puppy paws. Look you got back a whole bunch of discs this time. See, Green Eyes and I are lucky together.
“So, you gonna call it quits yet?”
“Hell, no. Pull up a chair Harvick. I’ll buy you dinner.”
“If you don’t end up going bust.”
“Oh shut up. My luck’s turning around. I can feel it.”
Maybe if you keep listening to me it will. Now can you get some more of those knights or maybe Squirtle? Stick with me and Green Eyes, Cowboy. We’ll do you right.
