Best man at a wedding he hoped to never see.
Plaster a smile on and smile for the cameras.
Traditional suit, dark tie, sharply dressed.
A contrast of light and dark, perfect complements.
He doesn’t know why he never said yes.
The yes said before him shatters his heart and sets him on a different course.
Lose himself in the ebb and flow of alcohol.
Watch the happy couple dance before him. Gulp more of his drink and catch the eye of a friend who’s never let him go.
Question in his eyes... does he accept or does he not?
