~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Week before Thanksgiving. He doesn’t want to be here, it’s clear on his face. None of us do but here we are.
Watch him throughout the meeting, seeing him shift and fidget, play with his phone. Maybe I can get him alone.
Been trying to find ways to spend time with him. I’m finding it hard. He’s wrapped up in family and friends, no time for an old flame.
Everyone leaves and it’s me and him, he’s on his phone... to Josh? Don’t know.
“June...”
He looks at me and it’s so easy to fall back into who we were.
