He got to Paris a week after she left.
In Rome, he was four days late.
By Athens, he'd cut the gap to two days.
But when he got to Prague,
he found she hadn't arrived. So he settled
down for a week of drinking.
When he sobered up, she
still hadn't come. He had to admit the trail
had gone cold. He headed back to LA in defeat.
When he got there, he found her waiting beside the baggage claim.
"About time," she said.
"I couldn't find you."
"You should have called," she said, rolling her eyes. "Stupid vampire."
