I spot her in the distance,
coming towards me. She is a vision of beauty. The way her hair bounces behind
her. The way her hips sway as she walks. If I had a heart, it would skip a beat
at the sight of her. She is getting closer. I feel myself tense. How is she
going to treat me this time? She is so rough most of the time. Kicking me, slamming
me around. She has no regard for my feelings. She gives no thought to how her
treatment hurts me. She is almost here. I relax a little, she does not look
angry. She is walking slowly, almost apprehensively. She reaches out a hand
to touch me and I tense again. She runs her fingers slowly up me. A gentle touch.
I quiver. She has never touched me like this. She flattens her palm up against
me and leans towards me. Her body getting closer and closer, almost resting
against me. Her faces inches from me. Is it finally happening? Does she love
me? She turns and walks away. I feel crushed. She doesn’t love me, she
can never love me. For I am but a crypt door.
