"Are you sure it's at the right angle?" Buffy asked Willow for the millionth time.
Willow sighed loudly, "Buffy, the couch is fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Well since I've said I'm sure about a million times, yep I think I must be sure."
"I'm sorry, its just...I want everything to be perfect."
"Everything's fine Buffy!" Willow said before collapsing exhausted on the couch, "We've been cleaning non-stop for three hours, I think we can safely say the house is clean."
Buffy sat down next to her friend, "Yeah, you're right."
Joyce came into the living room searching for her keys, "I'm going to pick up your cousin now Buffy." Joyce found her keys and looked round the spotless living room, "Wow, you really did a great job. Though I don't think it will stay clean for long if I remember what happened in our old house."
Buffy rolled her eyes, "Mom, we were five!"
Willow looked at Buffy confused, "What happened?"
"Well we we're having a barbecue and we decided to have a water fight. Except we were too small to reach the taps."
"But they weren't too small to reach the ketchup...or mustard or the mayonnaise." Joyce interrupted.
"Well the point is, I doubt that it will happen again." Buffy said, "I'm a mature adult now."
"Yeah right." Willow said under her breath. Joyce smirked and Buffy glared at her friend, "Coughing, not speaking." Willow offered weakly.
Joyce looked at her watch, "Oh I better shoot! I'll be back in about an hour, be good."
Willow and Buffy sat in silence for a while, too exhausted from cleaning to talk.
"So what do you want to do that doesn't involve moving?" Buffy asked.
"T.V?"
"Good idea."
... ... ... ...
Willow sat on the stairs watching Buffy pace back and forth whilst repeatedly glancing at her watch, "Buffy will you sit down? She's only ten minutes late...also you're making me really queasy."
Buffy sighed impatiently and sat on the stairs next to Willow, "I just don't see what could be taking her so long!"
"They could be caught in traffic or something."
They heard a car pull up outside and Buffy jumped up and dived out the door. Willow smiled at her excited friend and stood, ready to greet Buffy's infamous cousin. Buffy stepped back in the door closely followed by a jet-lagged blonde, "Willow, meet Tara!"
Willow gulped and looked in awe at the strikingly beautiful woman in front of her. She nervously offered out her hand, "Nice to meet you."
Tara took Willow's hand and shook it, "Nice to meet you too. Buffy's told me a lot about you." < Of course she forgot to mention that you are drop dead gorgeous. >
Willow smiled, "All good stuff I hope."
"Of course!" Buffy affirmed.
"Buffy, help with the bags please!" Joyce shouted from the car.
"Coming!" Buffy shouted back, "Be right back." She added before running down the path to grab Tara's bags.
Willow and Tara stood nervously in the hallway. Willow decided that she should break the silence, "So...good flight?"
"It was okay, thanks."
"Great." < Wow what a conversation start Rosenberg! >
Much to the relief of both girls, Buffy came bounding back into the hallway, carrying Tara's luggage with ease, "Come on, I'll show you my room."
Tara and Willow followed Buffy up the stairs. < Tara can see my room anytime! You're a bad, evil person Willow! >
Buffy placed the luggage down on her bed and turned to face Tara, "Well this is your room for the next five weeks." She said before sitting on her bed.
Tara sat next to her, "Hope you still don't snore as much."
"Hey, I never snored that bad."
"Na, I only mistook it for someone sawing through the roof!"
Buffy and Tara sat laughing whilst Willow stood awkwardly in the doorway, "You two have some catching up to do so I'll head home."
Both Tara and Buffy's faces fell, "You're not staying for dinner?" Buffy asked followed by a puppy dog expression.
"Urm...well I wouldn't want to intrude."
Joyce came into the room carrying some blankets, "Mom, can Will stay for dinner?"
"Yes of course."
"See, now you have to stay!"
"Well, I think I can gladly live without my moms cooking for a night." Willow said before sitting cross-legged on the floor opposite Buffy and Tara.
Joyce moved over to the spare bed and placed the blankets down, "Thought you might need these Tara."
"This is Sunnydale mom, not Alaska." Buffy said.
Joyce glared at her daughter, "Thank you Joyce." Tara said.
Joyce smiled at Tara, "You're very welcome. I'm gonna cook dinner so I'll leave you girls to do the bonding thing."
"Thanks mom." Buffy said before throwing an onslaught of questions at Tara.
... ... ... ...
Buffy, Tara and Willow were sitting round the dining table. Tara was sitting opposite Willow, much to her delight. Willow was also very pleased about the seating arrangements as she could glance at Tara's beautiful face every so often without it being too obvious.
"So what have you girls got planned for tomorrow?" Joyce asked.
"Oh Will that reminds me! I've gotta go train with Giles...for the chess club, so will you hang out with Tara for a while, just show her the non-existent sights and sounds."
"Yeah sure." Willow answered chirpily. < Woohoo!! >
"Is that okay Tara?" Buffy asked.
"Of course." Tara said before smiling at Willow. < Woohoo!! > Willow smiled back and then looked away when she began to turn the same colour as her hair.
"Cool, I don't have to train till two so we can have a girly shopping spree till then!"
"Oh, I kinda told Xander I'd help him pick out a birthday present for Anya, but I could meet you."
Buffy pouted, "Okay, that's alright I suppose."
"Don't worry, I will not be having fun looking for a present for an ex..." Willow looked at Tara, "Urm...ex-parking inspector."
... ... ... ...
Willow, Buffy and Tara sat talking in the living room. Willow glanced briefly at the clock and realised how late it was, "Well I think I better head home."
Buffy stood up and hugged her friend, "Okay, I'll see you tomorrow."
Willow smiled at Tara, "Bye Tara."
Tara felt her stomach flip when Willow said her name, "Bye Willow."
Tara watched the gorgeous redhead leave the house and sighed loudly. < You've got it bad Tara. >
Willow sighed as she was dragged into the millionth jewelry shop of the day. She collapsed on a chair by the door as Xander went in search of a piece of jewelry in his "price range" which Willow said he would only get a candy necklace with. < Two hours before I see Tara. > Willow smiled as she thought of the amazing blonde who had stepped into her life the day before. < She's so smart, and funny, and cute, and gorgeous, and....and I'm falling for a girl! Since when was I gay? I mean, I'm not gay...I think. >
"Willow!"
Willow jumped at hearing her name and realised that Xander was standing in front of her waving his hand in her face, "Finally, been trying to get your attention for ages! I found the one I want, I'm just getting it gift-wrapped. As long as it's shiny and expensive, Anya will like it. If she doesn't then she might take pity and turn me into one of the nicer looking demons."
"Hmmm yeah." Willow answered distractedly.
"Willow!"
"I'm listening!"
"You went off into daydream land again."
A young woman appeared with Xander's gift-wrapped present. He smiled gratefully then left the shop with Willow. They walked side by side in silence till Xander spoke, "So who's daydream guy? Anyone I know?"
Willow looked at Xander guiltily, "Urm no...no daydream guy."
"Come on Wills, I know when you're lusting after someone."
"I am not!" Willow shouted and displayed her resolve face.
"Ok that's cool, I will find out sometime though. Just make sure they are good enough for you...and that they make you happy, because that's the most important thing."
Willow smiled up at her friend affectionately and stopped walking to hug him briefly, "Thank you."
"Don't tell anyone else I said that womanly stuff, it may damage my rep."
Willow laughed, "Yeah right."
... ... ... ...
Tara sat down outside the changing rooms as Buffy went to try on another fifty different outfits. At any other time Tara would have been a little more enthusiastic about clothes shopping, but a certain redhead was making her head spin. She hadn't stopped thinking about Willow since last night. She had even dreamt about Willow! Of course the dreams hadn't helped at all with the huge crush she was developing on her. Tara had known for a long time that she was gay. She had not told her family and friends however, she had always been too scared.
Buffy came out of the changing rooms carrying a few outfits that she actually liked, "Come on, we'll go pay then we can have some coffee or something."
"That would be great." Tara said before following Buffy to the till.
... ... ... ...
Buffy placed the bundle of bags she had under the table at the espresso pump. Tara sat opposite her, staring into the lid of her coffee cup. Buffy sighed and rolled her eyes, "Okay who is it?"
Tara looked up startled, "Huh?"
"Who have you fallen for?"
Tara looked back guiltily, "No one."
"Oh come on! I have worn the 'I've got it bad' face so many times, I should know what it looks like."
Tara sighed, "Okay well I might have a crush on someone. I'm not sure."
Buffy squealed in delight, "Oh I knew it! Someone from LA right? Do I know them?"
"Umm no, you don't know them. I hardly know them. But, I can't stop thinking about them."
"Ahh well that is definite crush signs."
"Yeah, but I don't think anything could happen."
"Why not?"
"It's complicated." Tara said before resuming staring at the coffee lid.
Buffy saw that Tara was done talking on the matter and decided to let it slide. She tried to change the conversation, "So...hey there's Xander and Willow!"
Tara's head shot up and a huge smile spread across her face as she saw her redheaded crush. Buffy got up from the table and ran to meet her friends. Tara watched as Buffy hugged Xander then Willow. < What wouldn't I do just to hug her? > Tara continued staring at the red head as Buffy went into deep conversation with Xander.
Willow listened to Buffy and Xander for a bit then turned her head to see Tara sitting in The Espresso Pump. Tara nearly had a heart attack when Willow locked gazes with her. She knew she should look away, but she couldn't drag her eyes away from the beautiful redhead. Willow thought she was going to pass out if she stared any longer, she smiled sweetly at Tara then decided to look away as she felt her face turn red.
Tara's heart melted when Willow smiled at her. She smiled back and then her heart sank when the red head turned back to look at Buffy and Xander. < Yeah like she's going to be interested in you, and she's probably straight anyway. > Tara decided to gaze into her amazing coffee lid again.
... ... ... ...
"Hey Tara!" Buffy's voice close behind her nearly made Tara jump out of her seat, "I brought Will and Xand over, since were gonna meet Will in an hour anyway, we might as well meet her now." Buffy grinned and sat back down opposite Tara.
Xander sat down next to Buffy as Willow sat down next to Tara and nearly passed out from being so close to the gorgeous blonde. Tara was trying to keep from going so red that she might stop traffic.
"Tara, this is Xander." Buffy said happily.
Xander raised his hand a little, "Hey."
Tara smiled, "Hey."
The four sat in awkward silence for a while before Buffy spoke, "So Will I hope I can trust you not to take my cousin to those biker bars of yours?" Buffy joked.
"What? Biker bars? No biker bars! I don't have a bike, or a tattoo, or wear leather."
"Relax Will, I was joking!" Buffy interrupted.
Tara was having trouble breathing after Buffy placed mental images of leather clad Willow in her head. < How am I going to survive a day alone with her? >
Willow and Tara walked in awkward silence through Weatherly Park. Willow was finding it hard to think of interesting places to take Tara. This was Sunnydale after all. Willow decided since she was supposed to be entertaining Tara whilst Buffy was training, the least she could do was talk to her, "So, um, what courses did you take this year?"
Tara was relieved that Willow had been the one to break the ice, "Oh, well I took a year out so this year is gonna be my first."
"Cool, did you do anything fun on your year out, travel or anything?"
"Not really, I had to help my dad a lot."
"How come?"
"My mom died." Tara answered sadly.
Willow suddenly felt very guilty for asking, "Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to prod or anything..."
"No it's okay really."
They walked a bit further in silence. Willow was trying to think of something to say when she heard her tummy rumble loudly. Both girls giggled, "I think you might be hungry." Tara said.
"Definitely, do you wanna stop by mine and get something to eat. My parents are away so it will be cool."
Tara smiled, "That would be great." < I'm actually gonna be in Willow's home...okay that sounded stalkerish. >
Willow smiled and walked happily to her house. < She's gonna be in my house...dear god I'm obsessed. >
... ... ... ...
Tara followed Willow into the kitchen and Willow motioned for her to sit at the table. Tara sat and watched the red head rummage around in the fridge for something remotely edible, "Well we have cheese and...older cheese." Willow stood up and closed the fridge, "Looks like Pizza again." She said as she picked up the phone, "That okay?"
"Perfect." Tara said. < Just like you. >
... ... ... ...
Willow and Tara sat at the table eating their pizza and laughing, "Buffy actually did that!" Willow asked astonished.
"I swear! She went waltzing up to him and asked him out, when she walked away, he saw that her skirt was tucked into her underwear!"
Willow burst into fits of laughter, "You know that Buffy will kill you for telling me that."
"No, don't tell her I told you!"
"Hmm, what's it worth?" Willow asked cheekily. She started to get a bit flushed when various images of favours Tara could do in return for her silence flashed through her mind.
Tara smiled, "Well I have ways of keeping you silent."
Willow gulped at the obvious flirting between them. Tara was having trouble breathing as she imagined various ways she could silence Willow.
Willow decided to break the silence again, "So...coffee?"
"That would be great." Tara said as she broke her very raunchy train of thought.
Willow walked over to the kettle and flipped the switch, "So, what does your boyfriend think of you being away for five weeks." < Did I really just say that? Why do I care if she has a boyfriend? It's not like I would be jealous...much. >
Tara looked down at the table, "Well he's non-existent so I don't think he minds."
"Oh, I thought all the guys in LA would be lining up to ask you out." < Rosenberg, stop talking...for the love of puppies stop talking! >
Tara blushed and looked back at Willow, "Not so much."
"Well they must be blind and stupid then." < Okay stop now! >
"So how about you?"
"Am I blind and stupid?" Willow asked confused.
"No, I mean, where's the line of guys."
"Oh, outside your cousins house."
"Well they must all be very blind and very very stupid here." Tara smiled at Willow.
Willow smiled back and reached for the kettle when it had boiled. She cursed when she missed the handle and burnt her hand on the hot metal surface. Tara rushed over to help, "Are you okay?" she asked concerned.
"Yeah I'm fine, it's just...ow!" Willow said.
Tara took hold of Willow's hand and moved it over to the sink. She turned on the cold tap and held Willow's hand under it. Willow hissed at the sharp pain and tried to pull her hand away but Tara held it under firmly, "No, you have to leave it under."
"Ow ow ow." Willow said as Tara held her hand under the cold water.
"Sorry." Tara said sympathetically. She unconsciously began to rub her thumb back and forth across the back of Willow's hand. Willow was enjoying this contact very much and finding it hard to resist the urge to kiss Tara. < Don't be stupid Willow, she's just being a friend. >
Tara turned off the tap and turned to face Willow whist holding her hand gently. She found herself getting lost in the pools of green before her, "There, that should be...fine." Tara said and started to lean closer to Willow.
"Yeah, yeah...that should be." Willow said as she also moved closer to Tara. They were just a few inches apart and they fluttered their eyes closed. They leaned in even closer and just when they their lips were about to make contact...the phone rang.
Willow jumped back from Tara like she had just seen a frog. She grabbed the phone with her good hand, "Hello?"
"Will, you bringing my cousin home anytime soon?"
Willow looked up at the clock, "God, I didn't realise the time, guess we kinda lost track." Willow looked at Tara who was looking at the floor embarrassed. < You have really ruined any chance now MacLay. >
< God she must think I'm a sex pervert now, totally coming on to her! > Willow thought sadly, "Yeah I'll just head out Buffy, bye." Willow hung up the phone and turned to the blonde, "Um, that was Buffy, she said to take you home now because I'm hogging her Tara time." Willow laughed nervously.
"Uh yeah, we should, go."
"Right, going now." Willow said before grabbing her keys.
... ... ... ...
Buffy answered the door to an awkward looking Willow and Tara, "Finally, I was getting worried!"
"Sorry." Willow said before stepping into the house closely followed by Tara.
Buffy wandered through to the living room where Willow and Tara sat at opposite ends, "So what did you two get up to?" Buffy asked.
"Not much, you know Sunnydale, the land of not much." Willow babbled.
Tara smiled at Willow's cute mini-babble, "Yeah, we had pizza though, that was fun."
"Yeah definitely, oh and we talked a lot. Buffy do you remember Brad Miller?"
Buffy went wide-eyed, "Oh god, Tara you didn't."
"Okay Willow, your punishment is being thought of as we speak." Tara said.
Willow grinned wickedly at Tara, "Come on, I just had to."
Buffy yawned and stretched out on the couch. Willow looked at her watch, "Well I better get going."
Tara looked fallen and Buffy looked at her watch, "It's not that late," Buffy's face lit up as she had a thought, "You should stay over! We could have a big girly sleep over, just you me and Tara!"
Tara's heart nearly leapt out of her chest at the thought of Willow sleeping in the same room as her. Willow thought for a while, she didn't want to intrude on Buffy and Tara's bonding time, but she would give anything to spend a whole night in the company of Tara, "Umm, well I wouldn't want to intrude."
"Come on Wills, I wouldn't have asked if I thought you were intruding, besides, I think you owe me after the whole Brad comment."
Willow grinned, "Well I do have plenty more where that came from."
"Well then you better stay and let them fly!" Buffy joked.
"Okay, I'll stay."
"Woohoo, girly sleep over!" Buffy shouted as she jumped up into the air.
Buffy pulled various snacks out of the kitchen and piled them into Tara's arms, "So did you have fun today?"
Tara smiled as she remembered her day with the redhead, "Yeah it was great."
"So you got on alright with Wills?" Buffy said as she searched for an expiry date on a dodgy looking chocolate bar.
"Yeah she's great." < Amazing, wonderful, smart, funny, beautiful, how long you got? >
"Yeah, hence the best friend." Buffy smiled then threw the chocolate bar onto the ever-growing pile in Tara's arms.
Tara struggled to see over the pile of junk food, "Uh Buffy, I think we have enough."
"Hmm, okay just let me grab this. Okay, onwards and upwards."
Tara walked up the stairs with Buffy right behind her. Halfway up the stairs Buffy stopped, "Crap I forgot juice, I'll be right up."
Tara struggled to carry all the food down the hall. She passed the bathroom and glanced briefly at the door. She stopped dead in her tracks when she Willow's naked back through the crack of the door. < Oh god, I'm gonna die! > Tara dragged her eyes away from Willow and continued walking whilst blushing furiously. < I can't believe I just spied on her, I'm such a perv...but it was worth it. I'm a bad bad person!! > Tara dumped the food in the middle of Buffy's bedroom floor then sat down and leaned against the end of the bed.
Tara jumped a little when Buffy came bursting back through the door carrying a bottle of juice and three cups, "Hey!" Buffy said happily, "I'm so excited! Just us girls all bonding with movies and food and fun!"
Tara stared intently at the floor when Willow came into the room, "Hey, oh food...lots of it!" Willow said excitedly as she looked at the huge pile of junk food.
"I thought it was good to be prepared." Buffy said before stuffing a handful of toffee popcorn into her mouth.
"You thought! Did it hurt?" Willow joked.
Tara began giggling at Willow's joke while Buffy sat in a huff. Willow smiled at the blonde. < She's so cute when she giggles! >
"Well you're getting no sugary goodness now Miss. Rosenberg!"
Willow pretended to look devastated, "Nooo! Buffy, how could you do that to me?" Willow then launched into a full puppy dog look.
All three girls burst into fits of laughter and Buffy threw a piece of popcorn at Willow. Willow pulled the offending food out of her hair and threw it back at Buffy. Buffy used her slayer reflexes to smack it out of the way, but she didn't catch the huge bowl of Doritos that Willow chucked over her head. Buffy just sat there in shock shaking the crisps off her head. When she recovered, she picked up her glass of juice and waved it around threateningly in front of Willow's face.
Willow held up her hands and backed away slightly, "Don't even think about it Buffy!"
Without looking, Buffy through the juice in Tara's face who stopped her uncontrollable giggles. Tara sat there opened mouthed and Buffy looked worried when she thought Tara was about to cry. Willow held her hand over her mouth, not sure how Tara was going to react. Tara covered her face with one hand and pretended to cry.
"Oh, I'm sorry Tara!" Buffy said as she moved over to the blonde and pulled her into a hug, "I took things too far, I'm so sorry!"
Tara continued pretending to sob uncontrollably. Over Buffy's shoulder she got Willow's attention and pointed to the bottle of juice. Willow smiled when she realised Tara was planning a little payback < What a vixen! > Willow grabbed the bottle of juice, opened it, and carefully handed it over to Tara who increased her sobs to distract Buffy. Tara took the bottle and pulled out of the hug. Buffy opened her mouth to speak, but screamed when she felt the juice hit her head and flood all over her.
Willow rolled on the floor in fits whilst Buffy tried to dry her face. Tara was in hysterics and Buffy launched herself on the blonde to tickle her to death. Tara laughed even more and tried her hardest to push Buffy away. Willow went to the rescue and threw a pillow off Buffy's head. Buffy grabbed the pillow and started a full on pillow fight with Willow.
Soon Tara recovered and joined in, mostly focusing on hitting Buffy, as she didn't want to hit Willow. Buffy noticed that Willow and Tara were both attacking her and gave up. All three girls collapsed on the floor exhausted, giggling slightly. Whilst laying there catching their breath, Willow and Tara turned and looked at each other. They smiled slightly then their faces went a little more serious and they sat for a few more moments, lost in each other's eyes.
... ... ... ...
It was 3am and Willow and Tara were in deep conversation while Buffy tried unsuccessfully to get to sleep.
"Well I didn't really like their pop stuff, I did like the acoustic of..." Tara started but was interrupted by a loud sigh from Buffy who sat up and looked at the two girls annoyed.
"Will you guys PLEASE go to sleep!" Buffy begged.
Willow giggled at the annoyed Slayer, "We tried and we can't! Don't be a party poop!"
"I'm not being a party poop, its 3am! I need my beauty sleep! If you guys wanna talk then go downstairs." Buffy said before lying back down.
Willow and Tara looked at each other and shrugged before grabbing a bowl of marshmallows and making they're way downstairs.
... ... ... ...
It was now 4am and Willow and Tara had finished the marshmallows and were still in deep conversation. They were both lying on their sides facing each other with their heads resting on their arm.
"So you never dated Xander?"
"Nope, I mean there was that little kissage but that was about it."
"Yeah." Tara said, suddenly insanely jealous of Xander. Willow yawned and stretch a little, "Do you want to go to bed?"
< Oh I wouldn't mind going to bed, but it wouldn't be to sleep...bad thoughts Willow! > "Um, no I'm cool, unless you want to?"
"No I'm good." They sat in silence for a few moments, simply looking at one another.
Willow decided to break the rising tension, "I liked your payback on Buffy." Willow laughed a little as she remembered earlier events.
"I'm good at payback, so you should be worried, cos I'm still thinking yours over."
"Ha, yeah right, you wouldn't hurt innocent little me." < My god, I am openly flirting with her...I'm like a Faith type slut-bomb of Sunnydale! >
Tara felt herself get a little flushed at Willow's flirtatious tone. < Ok I need to control myself. > "Hmm, well what do you hate?"
"I'm not gonna tell you now!"
"Well, I'll just have to guess." Tara said before poking the girl's ribs making Willow yelp and shift closer to Tara. They both gulped, as their faces were now inches apart, "Umm, I was just testing to see if you were ticklish." Tara offered a little half smile which Willow found unbelievable sexy.
Neither of them were able to break eye contact and neither of them were able to pull away. Tara's hand was hovering above Willow's hip as Willow's hand made its way to Tara's back and she pulled the blonde a little closer. Tara gained more confidence from this and rested her hand on Willow's hip, moving her thumb back and forth. They moved forward in sync, their eyes closed. Their lips gently brushed and they pulled back a little. When neither of them moved away they began kissing tenderly over and over again.
Willow began to feel dizzy and Tara's breathing had become ragged. After a few more moments of tender touches, their kiss became more passionate as they opened their mouths and their tongues touched tentatively. Tara moaned at this new contact and Willow pulled her closer still and caressed the blondes tongue with her own. Tara became bolder and ran her hand up and down the back of Willow's thigh. Willow moaned and moved to roll on top of Tara.
Both girls jumped apart when they heard someone move into the living room. Joyce rubbed her sleepy eyes, "I didn't know you girls were still up."
Willow stood up and tried to find her voice, "Um, Buffy...she was trying to sleep so we...came downstairs to talk." Willow managed to stumble out." Tara was sitting on the floor in shock trying to get her motor functions working again.
Joyce yawned, "I just came down to get some water, its 4.30, maybe you girls should think about getting some sleep now."
"Yeah definitely." Willow said and watched Joyce make her way up the stairs.
Willow groaned and covered her face with her hands. She felt Tara walk past her and placed her hand on the blonde's shoulder. Tara spun round and avoided eye contact, "I think m-maybe we should get some sleep."
"Umm, yeah." Willow said before following the blonde upstairs to have a restless sleep.
Willow sat opposite Tara at the breakfast bar in awkward silence. Every so often they would make eye contact, then quickly look away. Tara's head was spinning from the previous nights events < Goddess I cant believe I kissed her. What a kiss...no Tara don't go there. You have royally freaked her out so there's no point in even thinking about kissing the amazing redhead with the sweetest lips you have ever tasted...damn it! >
Willow was idly swirling her cereal round her bowl. < Should I talk to her about last night? > Willow glanced up at the blonde who was deliberately avoiding eye contact with her. < She won't even look at you, she is so freaked out. > Willow sighed and emptied her breakfast in the bin.
"Not hungry?" Buffy asked as she entered the kitchen after getting dressed.
"Na...rumbly tummy." Willow said.
Tara smiled at the cuteness of Willow, then decided to concentrate on her breakfast rather than crush over the redhead.
"Oh well, you're still gonna hang with us today right?" Buffy asked hopefully.
Willow didn't think she could spend the whole day with Tara due to the tension between them, "Uh, I think I might go home actually. I might be coming down with something." Willow said before moving to the hall to grab her coat and bag.
Buffy looked at the redhead confused, "Are you sure you're gonna be okay?"
"Yeah, I'll be fine, later Buffy...bye Tara." Willow smiled at the blonde before leaving the house.
"Huh, that was weird." Buffy stated.
Tara looked sadly at the door the redhead had swiftly exited, "Yeah." < She's sick alright; sick of being around you. >
"You okay?" Buffy said before moving to sit opposite Tara, "You were talking with Will for ages last night but today you guys hardly said two words to each other. Did something happen?"
Tara gulped her food down guiltily, "No, I guess we're just both tired."
Buffy nodded and decided to leave it at that.
... ... ... ...
Willow was lying on her bed listening to Sarah McLachlan. < Wow this is depressing. The perfect end to a crappy day. > She had tried to keep her mind off Tara for at least two seconds today, but had not succeeded.
"I can't believe I kissed her!" Willow shouted out loud before covering her face with her hands, "I bet I was really terrible and slobbered all over her!"
Willow sighed in frustration and jumped off her bed. She switched off her stereo then made her way downstairs to grab her coat, "Right, gonna take a walk and not think about Tara...also gonna stop talking to myself." Willow said before grabbing some holy water just in case and heading out the door.
... ... ... ...
"I'm really sorry about this." Buffy apologised whilst pulling on her leather jacket.
"It's okay really." Tara assured.
"I just really need to go to this meeting for um...the chess club and you would probably be bored out of your mind."
"It's cool, I'm pretty tired so I'll probably go to bed early anyway."
Buffy looked at Tara knowingly, "That wouldn't have anything to do with a certain babbling redhead keeping you up till all hours would it?"
Tara smiled as she thought of the redhead. < Yeah like I needed to be reminded of Willow, its not as though I haven't been thinking about her ALL day! >
"Well I'll be back about ten, mom should be home from the gallery before that anyway. Bye, don't do anything I wouldn't do."
"Which means I can pretty much do anything." Tara joked.
"Later." Buffy smiled at Tara before heading out the door.
Tara sighed and made her way to the living room for some serious moping.
... ... ... ...
Willow was walking through Weatherly Park trying to think of anything but Tara. < Okay...stones, that's a good start. Grass, trees, fences, leaves...Tara's lips...NO! Not Tara's lips...um okay...pavement, bench, flowers, vampire...VAMPIRE!? >
Willow yelped as the vampire noticed the approaching human and ran after her. Willow ran as fast as she could until she collided with Buffy. Buffy pushed Willow out of the way and landed a few blows to the vampires face before staking him. Willow was lying on the grass and Buffy offered her hand to her friend, "Will, what are you doing here?"
Willow took the offered hand and pulled herself up, "I was taking a walk."
"At night...in Sunnydale?"
"I was prepared." Willow showed Buffy the bottle of holy water.
Buffy looked skeptically at the bottle then back at her friend, "Yes because that would have kept him at bay for long."
"Okay, my bad, I get the point."
Buffy decided to cut her friend some slack and changed the subject, "So I take it your feeling better now."
"Yeah kinda...where's Tara?"
"At home, felt really bad about leaving her alone."
"Well duty calls."
"Yeah but...alone in that big house...no one to talk to...all alone.
"Very subtle."
"I thought so." Buffy grinned.
"I'll stop by on the way home."
Buffy hugged her friend tightly, "You're the best."
"So are you and...ow!"
Buffy let her friend go, "Whoops sorry, well as you said; duty calls."
"Right, bye Buffy."
"Bye."
... ... ... ...
Tara sat flicking idly though the T.V channels. She glanced briefly to the spot where she had kissed a certain redhead last night. < No thinking about Willow! No thinking about... >
Tara's thoughts were interrupted by a soft knock at the door. She contemplated whether she should answer the door and decided she should when they knocked again.
"Willow?" Tara looked at the redhead surprised < Wow, she's even more beautiful every time I see
her. >
"Hey," Willow stood looking at the amazing blonde for a few moments until she realised she should explain her presence, "Buffy said to drop by. Not that I wouldn't drop by anyway, because I would, well unless you didn't want me to."
Tara smiled, "Of course I would, come in."
Willow stepped inside and stood awkwardly, "So what were you up to?"
< Thinking about you > "Watching T.V."
"Cool."
They stood for a few more moments in awkward silence until Willow spoke, "Tara about last night..."
"Willow its okay, we don't have to talk about this."
"But don't you think we should talk about it?"
"Just blame it on the marshmallows." Tara attempted a joke, but the redhead's face stayed deadly serious. < I don't want to hear the 'I like you, but not in the way' speech, not from Willow. >
"But I want to talk about it, because...because..." Willow sighed in defeat, "I'm gonna get some water."
Willow left the confused blonde in the hall and went into the kitchen. She grabbed a glass and ran the cold tap. < I can't believe I was gonna tell her I've fallen for her! Like she would want to be with someone like you! > Willow felt tears run down her face and she quickly wiped them away when she heard Tara enter the kitchen.
Tara decided to bite the bullet, "Willow..." The redhead shut off the tap but kept her back turned. Tara stepped behind Willow, "Look at me, please."
Willow turned round, "Its okay, we shouldn't talk about this."
Tara looked at the redheads tear stained face, "Have you been crying?"
"Um...no."
"Willow, talk to me please, I'm so confused."
"Me too...actually, I'm not."
"What do you mean?"
"I...I really like you Tara, a lot. When we kissed, that was one of the best moments in my life."
Tara felt a huge smile creep across her face, "Really?"
Willow took hold of Tara's hands, "Really."
Tara moved closer to Willow, "Mine too."
"Really?"
"Really." Tara said before gently kissing the redhead. Willow wrapped her arms around the blonde's neck and deepened the kiss. Tara's head was spinning from everything Willow; Willow's touch, Willow's lips, Willow's scent...she had never been so happy in all her life.
Willow moaned her approval when Tara swept her tongue across the redheads. She felt her knees buckle and leaned back on the counter, knocking the glass over. They both broke from the kiss and looked down guiltily at the shattered glass.
"I guess we should clean that up." Willow said before kissing the blonde briefly.
"Yeah, we should." Tara kissed Willow again for a little longer then broke away to clean up the glass. She was pulled back into another passionate kiss by the beautiful redhead. < These five weeks are going to be very interesting. >
Willow and Tara were sitting on the couch in the Summers living room in the middle of their never-ending make out session. Tara had eventually managed to clean up the broken glass and they had decided to sit and watch T.V till Buffy came home. Watching T.V became a difficult task for Tara when a Willow-hand that had been resting on her knee, started to move a bit further up. Tara had literally dived at Willow and pulled her into a passionate kiss that had yet to end.
Just as Tara was moving her hand up Willow's shirt, Buffy came in the front door. They both jumped apart and pretended to watch T.V, Willow tried to control her breathing whilst Tara nervously channel surfed.
Buffy hung her coat up in the hall and wandered into the living room, "Hey guys."
Willow looked up at Buffy wide-eyed, "Hey Buffy, wow didn't hear you come in, but you are here so you must have so hi."
Buffy gave Willow a quizzical look before turning to Tara, "Did you give her caffeine?"
Tara smiled and Willow got up off the couch, "Well I better go because, well because that's what you do when it's late and you're all tired and not in your own house which you need to be in so leave is what I must do and I will now."
Buffy stood trying to digest the babble, "Um okay, you coming over tomorrow?"
"Yeah sure." Willow did an internal happy dance at the thought of seeing Tara again.
"Okay cool, I'll call you."
"Um, I'll show you out...cos I need to talk to you, about the thing with the stuff." Tara said.
Buffy looked at Willow and Tara confused before shrugging, "Okay, later Will." Buffy hugged her friend briefly before heading to the kitchen
Willow walked to the door closely followed by Tara "Talk about the thing with the stuff? Great cover!" she said sarcastically.
"Do you want a goodnight kiss or not?" Tara asked in mock anger.
"Now that's a stupid question." Willow said before pulling Tara towards her and kissing her gently. When they pulled apart, they stared into each other's eyes, "I'll see you tomorrow."
"I'm counting the hours." Tara said before closing the door behind the redhead. She smiled happily and leaned back against the door.
"Tara did you break a glass?" Buffy shouted from the kitchen.
... ... ... ...
Willow was rudely awoken from her Tara filled dreams by the shrill ring of the telephone, "Hello?"
"Hey it's Buffy, did I wake you?"
"No...well yes, but no."
"Um, okay then, I was just phoning to see if you wanted to come to the cinema with me and Tara?"
Willow felt a huge grin creep on her face, "Yeah that sounds great!"
"Cool, well meet us about two outside the doors?"
"Great!"
"Okay, later Will."
"Bye."
As soon as the phone was down, Willow dived out of her bed to find something to wear.
... ... ... ...
"Where is she?" Buffy asked whilst glancing at her watch
"She's only five minutes late Buffy, she'll be here." Tara said, also trying to convince herself. < I hope she's not had second thoughts about us. >
Buffy sighed loudly, "Well I'm gonna get sugary goodness, you coming?"
"Uh...I think I'll just wait for Willow."
"You'll be waiting forever." Buffy said as she headed off to the pick and mix.
< I would wait forever for Willow. > Tara stood looking down the street hopefully. She spun round when she heard a voice behind her, "Looking for someone?"
"No-one special, just a gorgeous redhead, have you see her?"
Willow blushed and took hold of Tara's hand, "Na, my eyes are busy looking at a gorgeous blonde."
Tara smiled at Willow's compliment and resisted the urge to kiss her. < Not such a good idea when your very straight and clueless cousin is nearby. >
Willow let of go Tara's hand, "Guess we have to settle for a traditional greeting huh."
Tara nodded, "It sucks!"
"Damn straight! Well...maybe not, but still." Tara laughed and entered the cinema with Willow, "So where is Buffy?"
Tara looked over to the pick and mix stand, "Looks like she is currently chatting up some cutie." Willow frowned and Tara tried to dig herself out of the newly made hole, "Oh not cutie to me, but in the general rating of cuteness, he must be high."
Willow smiled, "Don't worry, I know what you meant. But if he hits on you, I will just have to get all butch and beat him up."
Buffy came bounding over excitedly, "Oh my god! Tara, my wonderful cousin, would you mind if I went out tomorrow with Mike?"
"Who's Mike?" Buffy pointed over to a muscly blonde who was standing waiting anxiously, "Oh...no I don't mind."
"You sure?"
"Yeah I'll just..." Tara started.
"You could come over to mine!" Willow interrupted a bit over enthusiastic, "I mean, if you want to."
"Of course I do." Tara smiled at the excited redhead.
"Ok cool, that's sorted then." Buffy said before heading back over to Mike to arrange their date.
"Come to your place huh?" Tara asked.
Willow looked at Tara wide-eyed, "I didn't mean, I mean not that I wouldn't, but we hardly know each other, but I just thought you'd be bored and..."
"Willow," Tara cut off the redheads babble, "I'm kidding."
Willow breathed a sigh of relief, "Oh, jokeness right."
... ... ... ...
Buffy came back over brandishing Mikes number on her hand, "He's taking me to dinner!" she said happily.
"So he's sparkworthy?" Willow asked.
"Very very." Buffy confirmed.
"We ready to go in? Tara asked.
"But I didn't get my ticket." Willow said.
"We got you one since you were all with the latitude." Buffy said whilst handing the ticked to Willow.
Willow read the ticket and looked up terrified, "Resident evil? You mean dead people eating other people and being generally scary?"
Tara giggled whilst Buffy nodded in affirmation, "It wont be that scary!" she said before heading off to their screen.
Willow whimpered and Tara whispered into her ear, "Don't worry, I'll protect you." Willow felt shivers down her spine at the close proximity of the blonde and gladly followed her to their seats.
... ... ... ...
Buffy was sitting scoffing her candy, completely engrossed in the scenes of massacre and violence before her. She would occasionally be shushed for mocking the fighting scenes with "Yeah right!" or "Oh come on!"
Willow spent half the time peeking through her fingers. Tara had no idea what the film was about as she was too busy watching Willow in all her cuteness. Tara could feel herself falling more in love with the girl with every passing second. < Woah, in love? In like you mean, it's just a crush thing...yeah right! >
Tara's hand was rested on her knee and she was surprised to feel a Willow-hand cover it. Tara smiled at Willow who was trying to look innocent. Tara moved her hand across to Willow's knee and began to draw circles round it. Willow's breathing became ragged as Tara's hand began to move further up the inside of her leg.
"What the hell?!" Buffy shouted out causing Tara to snap her hand back and both girls turn and look at Buffy guiltily, "Like he would backhand there! Hello, roundhouse but much!"
Both girls allowed their breathing to return to normal after that moment of panic and Tara decided to keep her hands to herself, much to Willow's disappointment.
... ... ... ...
"Out of the way!" Buffy shouted as she ran from the screen to the toilet.
Willow and Tara laughed at Buffy and stood outside waiting for her, "So I guess I'll be going home now," Willow said, "Yep because that's what you do at the end of the day and so I need to go home now." Tara smiled at Willow's subtle hint and leaned in to kiss her gently. When they pulled apart Willow smiled giddily, "What was that film about?" she asked dazed.
Tara giggled, "Hope its not gonna give you nightmares."
"Not after that."
They stood for a while smiling at each other lovingly until Buffy came out, "I think I just peed Niagara Falls!"
Willow looked at Buffy disgusted, "Thanks for sharing."
"What are friends for?"
Willow rolled her eyes then hugged Buffy and Tara goodbye. Tara sighed as she watched Willow walk away. < Why cant tomorrow be now? >
"Now are you sure you don't mind." Buffy asked as she pulled on her jacket.
"Buffy, for the millionth time, I don't mind. Besides, I'm sure Willow and I will find something fun to do."
Buffy failed to notice the knowing expression on Tara's face, "Okay cool, I'm not sure what time I'll be back though. Oh I just had a lightbulb moment, why don't you stay the night at Wills? It will save you walking back alone at night...Sunnydale is pretty dodgy at night."
< Well that's the best thought she has ever had! > "Yeah that would be cool."
"Okay cool, I'll just go phone Wills and see if that's okay. Her parents are away to some conference thing as usual so it should be cool."
... ... ... ...
"Hello?"
"Hey Will its Buffy."
"Oh hey."
"Um, would it be alright if Tara crashed at yours, because I'm not sure what time I'll be back, or if I'll be back." Buffy grinned.
"Yeah that would be fine with me." < WOOHOOO! >
"Okay good, see you soon."
"Bye."
As soon as Willow hung up the phone, she sped round the house on a quick cleaning spree.
... ... ... ...
"Hey!" Buffy said happily as Willow opened the door.
"Hey." Willow smiled at Buffy and Tara and stepped back to let them in, "So you looking forward to your date?"
"Well she hasn't shut up about it all day, so I'm guessing that she is." Tara said.
"That's so not true." Buffy glanced at her watch, "Damn I better get going. See you later guys." She said then made her way out.
"Okay have fun, don't do anything I wouldn't do." Willow said.
"What wouldn't you do?" Buffy joked before jogging away.
"Go on a date with that guy for one." Willow said under her breath.
Tara giggled, "Well I hope not." She said before placing her bag down on the floor in Willow's hall.
Willow shut the door and turned to Tara, "Uh, well..." she said before nervously looking down at the floor.
"Yeah." Tara said then looked round the house, "Nice house."
"Thanks...but I never built it." Willow internally smacked herself for that dumb remark.
Fortunately Tara laughed a little, "So what you got planned for our night of fun?"
"Well, I have videos and ice cream."
"Perfect."
... ... ... ...
"Oh man!" Willow said before moving her counter down the overly large snake, "I don't like this game!" They had ditched the videos after bawling their eyes out over 'Untamed Heart' and nearly falling asleep through 'American Psycho'.
"Ha ha ha, now victory is mine!" Tara said in her best evil voice. This made Willow burst into fits of laughter and Tara frowned, "Hey, don't mock my wrath!"
"I'm sorry, but you are way too cute to be evil." Willow said through giggles.
Tara blushed and Willow composed her laughter. She leaned across the board and gently kissed the blonde. Tara leaned into the kiss and moved her hand to the redhead's neck. Willow moved closer to Tara, pushing the Snakes and Ladders board away.
Willow wrapped her arms round Tara's waist as they deepened the kiss. Tara pulled Willow on top of her and Willow welcomed this new position, moving her thigh between Tara's legs.
Tara groaned at the contact and moved her hands under the redhead's top and dragged her nails lightly across Willow's back. Willow shuddered at this and began kissing across Tara's jawline. She sucked and nibbled on Tara's earlobe before moving down to Tara's neck.
Tara was in heaven right now, but alarm bells were going off in her head and she decided to halt the activities. Willow looked at Tara confused, "What's wrong?"
"Nothings wrong, it's just..."
"You don't want to?"
"No I do...I really really do . I just think...well this is going so fast."
Willow nodded, "Yeah you're right, we should just take it slow."
"Right." Tara said then reluctantly removed her hands from under Willow's top.
"Yeah." Willow moved off Tara and stood up.
Tara sat up and looked round nervously, "Umm yeah."
"Well I think I'll go get my PJ's on." Willow said before grabbing some nightwear and moving to the bathroom.
When Willow was out of the room Tara fell back and sighed loudly.
... ... ... ...
Willow knocked softly on her bedroom door to make sure that she wasn't about to walk in on a naked Tara. < Which wouldn't be a bad thing. >
"Is it okay to come in?" she asked.
"Yeah." Tara answered.
Willow stepped in and dumped her clothes in the washing basket. Her heart swelled at the sight of Tara brushing her long golden hair, she had never looked more beautiful in Willow's eyes. She shook her head out of her thoughts, "Um, I think I'll sleep on the floor then you can have the bed."
Tara frowned, "Its okay, I can take the floor."
"No I don't want you sleeping on the floor."
"Well I don't want you sleeping on the floor." Tara said before placing her brush on Willow's desk.
"Well...it's a double bed, we could share?"
"Okay cool." Tara tried to hide her enthusiasm for sharing a bed with Willow. < We're taking things slow remember...that is one of the worst ideas you have ever had Tara MacLay. >
Willow climbed into bed and Tara climbed in the other side. Tara settled down whilst Willow turned off the light. < God I hope I don't snore! > "Night Tara."
"Night."
They both lay in the darkness, staring up at the ceiling.
"Willow?" Tara asked nervously.
"Yeah."
"Could we...I mean could you..." she started. Willow took the hint and moved over to hold Tara, "Hmm, thank you."
"Always a pleasure." Willow said before kissing Tara on the forehead.
Tara idly drew small circles at the bottom of Willow's back. She breathed in the scent of her wonderful Willow. She had never felt so safe with someone in her whole life. Her hands drifted further up the back of Willow's shirt and she looked up and locked eyes with Willow. She gently brushed their lips and gradually their kiss became more intense.
Tara rolled on top of Willow and moved her hands up the front of Willows shirt. Willow pulled back a little, "I thought we were taking things slow."
"I think we've taken things slow enough don't you?"
"Oh yes!" Willow agreed and gasped when she felt Tara's cool hands on her breasts, "A very big yes!"
Soon clothes became in issue in their passionate embrace. Willow quickly pulled Tara's shirt over her head and drank in her beauty. Tara blushed self-consciously and moved to cover her bared anatomy. Willow took hold of her wrists and held them above the blonde's head, "You are so beautiful." Tara melted under the redhead's lustful gaze.
"Are you sure you want to?" Tara asked.
"Let me show you just how sure I am." Willow said before kissing her way down the blonde's body.
... ... ... ...
After giving each other more than a few moments of pure bliss, Willow and Tara lay in bed, holding each other as if it was their last embrace.
"Well, none of the sleepovers I had with Buffy ended up like that." Willow said.
"I'm glad!" Tara said, "Because I would be one jealous cousin."
Willow giggled and kissed Tara on the forehead, "That was nice."
"Well I would put it a little higher than nice."
"Nicer than nice...hmmm, well you might have to remind me how nice it was." Willow smiled cheekily.
"If I must." Tara smiled back.
"You must!" Willow agreed before kissing Tara softly. Their kiss had just began to get more passionate when the phone rang. Willow groaned loudly, "And the worst timing ever award goes to..." she said before grabbing the phone, "Hello?"
"Hey Wills it's me."
"Buffy, hey!" Willow said then glanced down at a guilty looking Tara.
"Hey, did you have a good night."
"Yeah it was...great."
"Cool, me too, I'll tell you all about it in a while, I'll be down in about five minutes okay?"
Willows eyes widened, "Uh five minutes...k."
"Alright later."
"Bye."
"Five minutes?" Tara asked.
"Five minutes!" Willow confirmed before they both darted to the bathroom to get ready.
